Guidance And Counselling Unit

The Polytechnic Guidance and Counseling Unit under the Student Affairs Department will be established to provide services and programmes for both students and staff.  The Guidance and Counseling service prepares students and staff to assume increasing responsibility for their decisions and grow in their ability to understand and accept the results of their choices.

Counseling is to help to assist or advise the students and staff educationally, vocationally and socially.  It also provides emphasis and strength to the educational program.

The unit will help to promote healthy inter-personal relationship among students and staff, between students, staff and Management students/staff unions and associations and Management.  The Counseling Centre provides the following services and programmes:

  1. Career guidance service;
  2. Job facilitation for graduating students;
  • Educational counseling for under-achieving students and personal counseling;
  1. Orientation programmes for new students intimating them of the Polytechnic life and various challenges they would face in the course of their study.
