SECURITY UNIT

The Polytechnic Security Unit

The academic and other activities on Polytechnic campuses cannot be conducted without adequate security. Security is therefore of paramount importance and Federal Polytechnic Daura will strive to maintain and operate a virile internal security unit that will operate in liaison with the Police and other security agencies to ensure that law and order are maintained in campuses.  The security unit is headed by the Chief Security Officer (CSO) who is in charge of the overall security.  The Chief Security Officer of the Polytechnic is answerable to the Rector.  The unit will be adequately staffed to take care of every aspect of their work including intelligence gathering and crime detection and prevention.

Apart from Supervisors and Guard men, the security unit has four (4) sub departments, namely:

  1. Security Operators: They are in charge of overseeing various units’ security activities.
  2. Administrative Department: Is charged with the administrative activities of the unit.
  • Account Department: is charged with the Bursary activities of the unit.
  1. Intelligence Department: is the brain power department of the unit in charge with secret service operations within the Polytechnic.
