SIWES
The SIWES Unit
The Students’ Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) Unit is established to coordinate the Industrial Training (IT) of students in all the mandatory disciplines in the compulsory industrial attachment. This unit will serve as the link between the Polytechnic and Government’s Industrial Training Fund (ITF) which provides the funding of the Industrial Experience of students. The IT scheme provides students with the opportunity to put into practice the theoretical knowledge they have acquired in the Polytechnic under real industrial environment setting. The scheme also provides students the opportunity to prepare for employment after graduation. The SIWES Unit will be headed by an academic staff not below the rank of Principal Lecturer. He/She will report directly to the Rector.
