The Federal Polytechnic Daura has organized a one-day induction training workshop for academic staff on the National Research Fund (NRF). The National Research Fund (NRF) is a special intervention initiative of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) designed to provide financial support for cutting-edge research projects in Nigerian tertiary institutions by the Federal Government. The Fund focuses on promoting innovation, knowledge creation and solutions to national developmental challenges through quality research proposals.

The lecture was presented by the Guest Lecturer, in person of Dr. Suleiman Zangina, Deputy Director Research TETFund, who is an esteemed expert in research proposal development.
The opening ceremony, which took place on 14th August, 2025 was held at the School of Vocational Education, Skills and Professional Development Multi-purpose Hall, Zango Road.
The Registrar, Suleiman Saad Gwarzo, warmly welcomed participants to the workshop. He urged the academic staff to seize the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and contribute to the advancement of academic excellence within the institution. He further assured the academics staff, the maximum support of the Polytechnic management whenever it comes providing such interventions to the Polytechnic community.
In his remarks, the Chief Host, Dr. Musa Gambo K.K., FNIM, FNIMN, frpa, the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Daura, emphasized the importance of the event and congratulated the participants for being fortunate to have among them a rare scholar and expert in research proposal development, Dr. Suleiman Zangina who came the way from Abuja to Daura and delivered the lecture. He charged the participants to study the NRF curriculum thoroughly, stressing on the need to enhance the Polytechnic chances of securing the National Research Fund Award of 2025, in line with the institution vision of academic excellence, research innovation and Fabrication of equipment and technology tools which will compete favourablly in this era of the 21st century.
The workshop was conducted successfully, underscoring impactful knowledge and generating meaningful ideas that will shape the research development of the Federal Polytechnic Daura staff and beyond.
